Get started
-
Sign up. Go to pocketshare.io/app and choose Sign in. Use Google, or enter your email and use the link or code we send you; either creates your account, with $1 of credit to start.
-
Find a phone. Search lists every phone hosts have put up, with its model, Android version, hourly price and reliability. Filter by brand, Android version or price, or tick Available now. Not listed? Request a model.
-
Rent it with a spending cap. On the phone’s page, pick a cap (from $1), choose Review rental to see the rates, then Rent for up to $…. The host’s hub prepares the phone, usually within a minute. Billing starts only when the phone is ready and never goes past your cap.
-
Use it. Open live view shows the phone’s screen with a shell, Logcat, APK install and files, with nothing to install. For adb and Android Studio, install the CLI and run
pocketshare connect: the phone appears inadb devices. -
End the rental. Choose End rental (or run
pocketshare stop). Billing stops at once, and the phone is wiped and checked for the next renter. You pay for each started minute plus the data carried. -
Add credit when you need more. Billing › Add credit takes a card payment through Stripe, from $5. Unused credit doesn’t expire while your account is open.
Use test accounts and test data only: the phone belongs to a host, and anyone near it can see its screen. See Sessions and safety.
