Ways to use a phone
adb and Android Studio
Section titled “adb and Android Studio”pocketshare connect <rental>adb devicespocketshare connect opens a local ADB endpoint and runs adb connect for you. The phone then
works like one on your desk: Android Studio’s device mirroring and debugger, Logcat,
adb install, adb shell, port forwarding, scrcpy, and test frameworks such as Espresso,
Appium and Maestro.
In your browser
Section titled “In your browser”Open a rental on pocketshare.io to see the live screen and use touch and keyboard, with APK install by drag and drop, Logcat and file transfer. Nothing to install.
From the command line and CI
Section titled “From the command line and CI”The pocketshare CLI will search phones, rent, connect, install, take screenshots, read
Logcat and stop, with --json output for scripts. API keys and a REST API are planned for CI.
From AI coding agents
Section titled “From AI coding agents”An MCP server is planned so agents can rent a phone within a spending limit, install your app, take screenshots, tap through it and read Logcat. Agent rentals end automatically when idle.
What you won’t get
Section titled “What you won’t get”Root access, the phone’s SIM card or phone number, or access to the host’s computer or network. A short list of actions that would break cleanup or the next rental, such as removing PocketShare’s tools, is blocked. See Limits.
