Caution

These protections are being built and must pass testing on real phones before rentals open.

During a rental

• One renter per phone. The database refuses a second rental of the same phone.
• Access runs under a short lease the hub renews while your rental is active. Ending the rental, running out of credit or hitting your cap cuts access within seconds.
• Your traffic goes through PocketShare’s relay. You can’t reach the host’s computer or home network.

After a rental

The hub wipes the phone and checks it against its starting state: installed packages, settings and storage. A phone that fails the check is quarantined until it’s fixed, so the next renter starts clean.

Honest limits

• Phones are in hosts’ homes. Anyone holding a phone can see its screen, so use test data and test accounts, never real personal data or valuable credentials.
• Wiping is designed for test use; it isn’t forensic erasure. Anything you leave on the phone should be treated as visible to the host until the wipe runs.
