Pricing
Pay for what you use
Section titled “Pay for what you use”- Phone time, per minute. Each phone shows an hourly price set by its host, within platform bounds. You’re billed per minute (partial minutes round up) while the phone is connected and usable. A five-minute check costs five minutes.
- Bandwidth, per GB. One published rate for traffic through PocketShare’s relay: ADB, screen streaming and file transfers. During the beta the phone’s own internet traffic goes through the host’s network and isn’t billed.
- No subscription or minimum session.
Credits and caps
Section titled “Credits and caps”- Prepaid credits. You top up a balance with a card, and rentals draw it down.
- Spending caps. Every rental has a cap, and you can set an account limit. A rental ends automatically when its cap or your balance runs out, with a warning first.
- Not billed: failed starts, time before the phone is usable, and cleanup after you end. Rentals that drop because of the host or phone are planned to be credited automatically.
You’ll see the hourly price, the bandwidth rate and an estimate before you start a rental.
How it compares
Section titled “How it compares”A real phone elsewhere costs about $5 to $10 an hour when metered (Firebase Test Lab and Android Device Streaming, AWS Device Farm), or a monthly subscription (BrowserStack App Live). PocketShare’s launch prices are a small fraction of the metered rates, with no subscription. The terms cover refunds of unused credit.
